Crypto exchange OKX has secured new funding, maintaining its valuation at $25 billion. The investment round includes participation from Circle Internet Group, Ripple, and SC Ventures, the investment arm of Standard Chartered. Qube Research & Technologies also joined the cap table as a new investor.
The exchange did not disclose the specific amount raised in this round. This financing follows a previous deal closed in March, where Intercontinental Exchange invested approximately $200 million at the same $25 billion valuation. The current capital is intended to bolster the long-term market infrastructure of the platform.
Qube Research & Technologies, a former Credit Suisse spinout, currently manages a crypto fund with assets totaling about $1 billion. The firm stated that its investment is driven by a positive outlook on the long-term growth of digital assets and continuous trading markets.
Separately, the joint venture OKXICE LLC is seeking regulatory approval to offer tokenized shares of 63 U.S. public companies, including Nvidia, Apple, and Coca-Cola. The proposal utilizes the SEC innovation exemption, which permits trading tokenized equities on public blockchains for up to five years without registering as a national securities exchange.
The proposed offering is restricted to tokens that grant holders rights identical to ordinary shares, such as voting and dividends. Issuers are granted a 30-day window to object to the tokenization of their stock, effectively providing companies like Nvidia and Apple with veto power over their inclusion on the platform.
