A Reddit user reported that Nvidia denied a warranty claim for their RTX 5090 FE graphics card. The company cited severe fading of the serial number on the device as the reason for the rejection, despite the user owning the card for only one month before it began experiencing black screen issues under high load.

The user stated that they never removed the card's bracket and offered to provide the original packaging and purchase invoice to verify the product. Previously, an Nvidia online customer service bot had informed the user that if a serial number was illegible, the original packaging and proof of purchase could be used to validate the warranty claim.

Other users have reported similar issues with fading serial numbers on their RTX 5080 and RTX 5090 FE Founders Edition cards. Some of these owners also confirmed that they faced warranty denials from Nvidia due to the same defect, despite the availability of purchase documentation.
