Rental costs for Nvidia Blackwell Ultra (B300) GPUs have reached record highs, marking 17 consecutive days of price increases as of October 15, 2026. Current on-demand rates range from $7 to $10 per GPU-hour.

This represents a 64% increase compared to November 2025, when the hourly rate was approximately $4.55. Data from the Compute Desk index, which tracks verified transactions from US neocloud providers, highlights this upward trend.

The price surge is driven by high demand for open-source AI models and supply constraints at Supermicro, the manufacturer of B300 systems. Additionally, the market value of B300 hardware has risen by nearly 40% over the past three months.

The B300 chip features 288 GB of HBM3e memory and 8 TB/s bandwidth, with a power consumption of up to 1,400 W. These technical specifications and production bottlenecks directly impact data center planning and rental availability.

While the current environment benefits companies holding B300 capacity, AI startups face rising operational costs. Market analysts note that despite the compute boom, public companies in the sector are seeing mixed performance.
