Nothing is preparing to launch its first AI-native device, which will be officially unveiled in December. CEO Carl Pei confirmed the development on the social network X, noting that the product will not feature a screen.
The company has been working on AI-focused hardware and operating systems for over a year. Pei described the upcoming device as a tool with a unique design, emphasizing that it is a standalone product rather than just a software application.
While specific details remain scarce, the announcement follows reports that Nothing is shifting its brand focus toward AI-integrated accessories. Previous rumors suggested the company might be developing AI-powered smart glasses.
The market for screenless AI hardware already includes devices like the Humane AI Pin and the Friend pendant. Pei expressed skepticism regarding the industry's search for a single 'iPhone moment' for AI, calling such a pursuit a dead end.
