Nissan is celebrating the 40th anniversary of the Pathfinder with a new Special Edition trim for the 2027 model year. The vehicle features a retro-inspired interior with black-and-burgundy upholstery, echoing the design of the original 1987 SUV. Exterior updates include 20-inch black alloy wheels, red grille accents, and unique C-pillar badging.
The Special Edition is positioned between the SL and Platinum trims in the 2027 lineup. It is equipped with a 3.5-liter V6 engine producing 284 horsepower and 259 pound-feet of torque, paired with a nine-speed automatic transmission. The vehicle comes in a seven-seat configuration and includes a 12-speaker Bose sound system, a panoramic moonroof, and a factory tow hitch.
Pricing for the front-wheel-drive version starts at $47 390, while the all-wheel-drive model is priced at $49 390. Including a destination charge of $1 575, the total costs are $48 965 and $50 965 respectively. The trim is capable of towing up to 6 000 pounds, matching the capacity of the Rock Creek and Platinum versions.
Production of the 2027 Pathfinder Special Edition will take place at the Nissan plant in Smyrna, Tennessee. The new trim level is scheduled to arrive at dealerships across the United States in November 2026.
