Nissan is marking the 40th anniversary of the Pathfinder with a 2027 Special Edition. The vehicle features a two-tone black and burgundy interior, referencing the 1987 model, alongside black 20-inch wheels, a panoramic sunroof, and a 12-speaker Bose audio system.
The SUV is equipped with a 3.5L naturally aspirated V6 engine producing 284 horsepower and 259 lb-ft of torque. The inclusion of a tow hitch receiver increases the towing capacity to 6,000 lbs. The front-wheel drive Special Edition is priced at $48,965, while the all-wheel drive version costs $50,985.
Reports suggest that Nissan may introduce a new body-on-frame Pathfinder in 2029 to compete with the Toyota Land Cruiser Prado. This potential model could share ladder chassis technology with the next-generation Frontier and be produced at the Canton, Mississippi, plant. Nissan has not officially confirmed these plans.
