Mercedes-Benz confirms it will continue producing coupe-style SUVs despite earlier industry rumors of a potential lineup reduction. Christoph Starzynski, Vice President of Product Strategy and Product Steering, stated that the company observes strong demand for these models. He noted that customers appreciate the combination of interior space and sporty driving dynamics.

The commitment to this body style is reflected in the upcoming 2027 Mercedes-Benz GLE Coupe. The current lineup includes three coupe SUVs and three four-door coupe sedans. Buyers can select from various configurations, ranging from the base 350 model to high-performance AMG 53 and 63 variants.

Other manufacturers maintain varying strategies regarding this segment. While Audi, BMW, Genesis, and Porsche continue to offer coupe SUV models, some companies are scaling back. Infiniti has discontinued the QX55, and Volkswagen has ended production of the ID.5 in Europe as part of a broader lineup restructuring.
