Nissan has officially confirmed that the 14th-generation Skyline, internally designated as the V38, will debut in December 2026. CEO Ivan Espinosa announced the date, confirming the sedan remains a key part of the company's product lineup. The vehicle is expected to be a combustion-powered sports sedan, though specific engine and transmission details remain unconfirmed.
The development of the new Skyline marks a shift in Nissan's engineering process. By utilizing generative AI and digital tools, the company reduced the development cycle to approximately 26 months, which is roughly half the time required for the previous generation. This project serves as a pilot for a broader strategy to shorten development timelines across 90 percent of future vehicle projects.
The V38 platform is expected to underpin a future Infiniti sport sedan, potentially arriving for the 2028 model year. While fans have speculated that the reveal could coincide with the Nismo Festival at Fuji Speedway on December 6, 2026, Nissan has not officially designated a venue for the premiere. Further design specifications and production details are currently pending.
