NextStar Energy, a subsidiary of LG Energy Solution, has reached a production milestone of 10 million battery cells at its facility in Windsor, Ontario. The plant has been operational since commercial production commenced in November 2025.
The facility represents a total investment exceeding CAD 5 billion. It holds the distinction of being the first and only commercial-scale battery manufacturing plant currently operating in Canada.
The production process at the site incorporates automation and a multi-stage quality verification system to ensure compliance with international performance and reliability standards.
Beyond battery cells, the company expanded its operations in June to include the manufacturing of battery modules and complete battery packs at the same location.
