Neuralink, a brain-computer interface company co-founded by Elon Musk, shared a new update regarding its VOICE project. A volunteer named Terry, who suffers from speech impairment, successfully used the implant to communicate the phrase 'I love you' to his family.

The demonstration featured a 23-second video showing the participant using the device to convert neural signals into synthesized speech that closely matches his original voice. The system utilizes Grok Voice technology to translate thoughts into audible words.

The process involves the user training the algorithm by attempting to simulate speech. Once trained, the system can generate output based on the user's internal thoughts. The technology aims to assist individuals with severe speech disabilities caused by conditions like ALS, stroke, or spinal cord injuries.

Neuralink clarified that the device remains in the research phase and has not yet received approval from the US FDA or other regulatory bodies. The company noted that this individual experience does not guarantee similar outcomes for all participants or future clinical results.
