Nectar Group has secured $5 million in a seed funding round, bringing the company's post-money valuation to $30 million. The startup is currently developing HoneyB, a platform designed to generate yield on native Bitcoin holdings for institutional investors.
The platform utilizes a carry trade mechanism where institutions deposit Bitcoin as collateral to borrow stablecoins. These funds are then allocated into tokenized real-world asset strategies provided by firms such as AlphaLedger and Simplify, with projected gross annualized returns of approximately 12%.
HoneyB aims to eliminate the need for wrapping or bridging Bitcoin by using protocols that support native deposits. The architecture incorporates tri-party custodial accounts, where an independent third party manages the collateral to address security concerns.
The company has established partnerships with Arch Network for native Bitcoin functionality and Chintai for regulatory compliance in tokenization. As of October 20, 2026, the platform remains in a pre-launch phase with no live tokens or operational metrics.
