The NearLink 3.0 standard was officially unveiled at the CEIC2026 summit held in Shenzhen on October 22. This iteration focuses on AI integration, passive technologies, and millimeter-wave communication, aiming to support comprehensive smart IoT scenarios.
Development of the 3.0 standard began in August 2025. To date, three specific standards, including lossless audio, have been finalized, with additional specifications currently under development. The SLE 3.0 technical evolution roadmap, supported by over 60 organizations, outlines future improvements in data rates, coverage, and interference resistance.
The NearLink wireless communication system has also transitioned from a group standard to a recommended national standard in China. The State Administration for Market Regulation approved the GB/T 48336.101—2026 series, which is scheduled to take effect on April 1, 2027.
