The Spanish deeptech company Nearby Computing has raised €680 000 in funding from the Spanish Society for Technological Transformation (SETT). This investment is part of a broader financing operation totaling €1.4 million. The capital is allocated to support the company's growth and the further development of its flagship platform, NearbyOne.
NearbyOne serves as a control plane designed to manage distributed cloud-to-edge environments. The platform enables organizations to automate infrastructure provisioning, updates, and maintenance through policy-based tools. It is vendor-agnostic, allowing businesses to integrate various hardware, cloud providers, and AI stacks without requiring complex migrations.
The technology is currently deployed across sectors including telecommunications, retail, and energy. For instance, service providers utilize the platform to manage 5G Core and RAN infrastructure as a unified fleet. In the energy sector, it supports the management of distributed assets and sensors, while in retail, it automates AI-driven applications across hundreds of locations.
The platform includes built-in resilience features that allow critical workloads to continue running locally during connectivity outages or central cloud disruptions. The transaction was facilitated through the Next Tech facility, which is supported by Spain's Recovery, Transformation and Resilience Plan and funded by the European Union Next Generation Funds.
