Elon Musk announced a new feature for the X platform that allows users to send $1 to content creators by long-pressing the like button. This payment mechanism will be integrated directly into the X Money service, though the official launch date and specific confirmation protocols remain undisclosed.
X Money serves as a cornerstone for transforming X into a comprehensive super-app. Launched in the United States on July 27 for Premium and Premium+ subscribers, the service includes features such as deposit accounts, instant peer-to-peer transfers, and Visa debit cards. Transactions between users are currently free of charge and have no set limits.
The platform has been actively expanding the role of X Money within its ecosystem. As of September 2, all creator earnings from original content rewards and paid subscriptions in the United States are processed through X Money, replacing the previous reliance on Stripe. The service is currently restricted to US residents who meet age and identity verification requirements.
