Negotiations between Iran and Oman in Muscat have reportedly collapsed, according to reports from Iranian publications including Kayhan, Shargh, and Donya-ye Eghtesad. The breakdown of these talks is expected to negatively affect Iran's economic situation, potentially leading to increased inflation, shortages, and currency instability.
The failure of the discussions has placed additional pressure on Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian. Market data shows that the probability of his resignation by the end of the year has risen to 12 percent, compared to 11 percent recorded on the previous day.
The diplomatic outlook between the United States and Iran has also shifted following the collapse of the Muscat talks. The likelihood of a diplomatic meeting between the two nations by September 30 has declined to 7.5 percent, down from 8 percent the day before, signaling growing skepticism regarding near-term progress.
