Mural, a provider of financial infrastructure for fintech companies, has secured $15 million in a Series A funding round. The investment was led by Tether, the issuer of the USDT stablecoin. The company plans to utilize these funds to support its global expansion and enhance its regulatory and payments infrastructure.
The platform acts as a system of record for managing accounts, payments, identity, and compliance. It is designed to help businesses integrate various financial tools and bank partners into a unified system. Mural aims to facilitate the scaling of agentic finance by connecting autonomous agents to the global financial internet.
Mural was founded by former Palantir engineers Sinclair Toffa and Chris Fernandes. Tether CEO Paolo Ardoino noted that the investment was driven by the team's expertise in linking enterprise-grade software to stablecoin rails. The company focuses on bridging the gap between existing banking networks and new autonomous financial agents.
Recent industry research highlights a significant increase in the adoption of AI agents, with 89% of surveyed executives reporting their use in at least one business area in 2026, compared to 7% in late 2025. However, only 2% of companies currently allow agents to perform routine tasks independently without human intervention.
