MTS plans to deliver ten mobile aerial communication complexes (AMKS) to its regional branches across Russia by early 2027. These systems are designed to provide LTE and 5G connectivity in remote or sparsely populated areas, as well as for emergency response and large-scale events.

The system features a tethered hexacopter that carries a base station radio module. It can be deployed by two specialists within 30 minutes. Once operational, the drone hovers at an altitude of 100 to 200 meters, providing coverage within a radius of 10 to 15 kilometers for up to three days.

The complex is transported via vehicle or trailer, which houses the control unit, a gasoline generator, and the operator station. Connectivity to the core network is established through either satellite channels or optical fiber lines. Regional branches will adapt the hardware to local transport needs.

The technology was first demonstrated in May 2026 in Nizhny Novgorod. The initial batch of ten units will be distributed to branches in the Far East, Siberia, the Urals, the South, the Northwest, and Central Russia to ensure rapid deployment capabilities across diverse geographical locations.
