MTS analyzed the performance of its Zashchitnik digital filter in the Stavropol region. During the summer of 2026, the service blocked over 12 million suspicious and intrusive incoming calls. This result placed the region in tenth position nationwide for the number of blocked unwanted calls.

The landscape of fraudulent call schemes shifted in the region during the summer of 2026. Advertising-related scams became the most common, accounting for nearly 13% of all fraudulent attempts. Impersonation of postal services or marketplaces rose to second place with 12%, while calls from individuals posing as government officials dropped to third place with 9%.

Activity levels varied throughout the summer period. June 2026 was the quietest month for residents, while August 2026 saw the highest volume of spam and fraud. During the final month of summer, the frequency of fraudulent calls was three times higher than at the beginning of the season.

Svyatoslav Koshurnikov, Director of MTS in the Stavropol region, noted that scammers frequently mimic legitimate advertising calls during periods of high consumer activity, such as seasonal sales or back-to-school preparations. He emphasized the importance of using digital security tools to mitigate these risks.
