MTS Premium has implemented a data quality framework called the Data Quality Maturity Ladder (DQML) to identify errors in distributed data. The system is built on a hierarchy of checks, starting from basic technical validation to process-level and business-logic verification.

The process-level checks focus on data integrity as it moves between systems. On May 3, 2024, the team launched a specific check to identify duplicate subscription orders. This mechanism tracks duplicate parts of JWT tokens to prevent multiple charges for the same service.

During the operation of this check, 326 duplicate orders were identified. Analysis revealed that these issues stemmed from various sources, including service provider errors, payment widget bugs, and interface issues in the My MTS app and MTS Music for Android.

The team emphasizes that even a small number of errors can indicate systemic problems. Unlike incident management, which only addresses individual user issues, the DQML framework aims to identify and eliminate the root causes of technical failures to prevent their recurrence.
