MTS has clarified its policy regarding 5G access for subscribers. While 5G-capable smartphones do not require additional technical configurations to connect to the network, the operator mandates the activation of specific paid services to utilize the technology.
Users can choose between two subscription options: the 'UZHE 5G' service for 199 ₽ per month or the 'UZHE 5G+' plan for 299 ₽ per month. Beyond 5G access, these packages include additional data allowances and priority connection to LTE networks.
The company's 5G coverage in Moscow remains limited. According to the operator's official map, the signal is primarily available within the Garden Ring, as well as in parts of the Khamovniki and Ramenki districts, with isolated zones elsewhere in the city.
Currently, MTS is the only major operator in the region to implement a separate fee for 5G access. Competing mobile providers do not charge their subscribers additional costs for connecting to fifth-generation networks.
