Motorika has launched the production of bionic hand prostheses in Ghaziabad, India, marking the company's first instance of transferring manufacturing technology abroad. The project utilizes a local partner's facilities to produce the Indy Hand, a single-grip myoelectric forearm prosthesis. The device weighs at least 520 grams and can lift objects up to 10 kg.
The localization strategy aims to reduce production costs by utilizing local suppliers and optimizing logistics, while also improving service accessibility for patients. By establishing a local presence, Motorika gains access to Indian government procurement programs. The company plans to use India as a regional hub for future expansion into Pakistan, Bangladesh, Sri Lanka, Nepal, Bhutan, and the Maldives.
Motorika has been active in the Indian market since 2021, having established partnerships with over 60 clinics and opened an office in New Delhi. The company has trained local staff on its manufacturing and quality control standards. As of October 26, 2026, several dozen units have been produced, with some already fitted to users.
The company's history of investment includes a 200 million ruble round from DFVT and 100 million rubles from RDIF in 2021. In June 2024, Motorika secured 900 million rubles from UK Pervaya. The firm has also expanded its portfolio to include invasive neurostimulators, leg prostheses, and wheelchairs, alongside the creation of a center for cybernetic medicine.
