Morgan Stanley’s Bitcoin Trust (MSBT) acquired approximately 642 BTC, valued at $50.6 million, via Coinbase Prime during a two-week period in September 2026. The fund has maintained a consistent record of zero net outflows since its inception, demonstrating steady demand.
Launched on April 8, 2026, the MSBT is the first spot Bitcoin ETF from a major US bank-affiliated manager. The fund has accumulated over $538 million in total net inflows, with net assets reaching between $586 million and $635 million by mid-September 2026.
During its first 30 days of operation, the ETF recorded $193.6 million in net inflows. The product features an expense ratio of 0.14%, which was the lowest among spot Bitcoin ETFs at the time of its launch. BNY Mellon acts as the administrator, while Coinbase Custody manages the storage.
Data indicates that the majority of inflows originate from self-directed clients rather than financial advisors. These investors purchase the ETF independently through their Morgan Stanley accounts, opting for a regulated investment vehicle to gain exposure to Bitcoin.
