Beijing-based Moonshot AI is expanding its operations into Singapore, marking a strategic move to build revenue and partnerships outside of China. The company has begun recruiting experienced professionals for a sales role based in the region, as announced on LinkedIn on October 20, 2026.

The startup, founded in March 2023 by Yang Zhilin, Zhou Xinyu, and Wu Yuxin, has already established a legal presence in Singapore. It incorporated an entity there in July 2023, which was rebranded as Novascent in June 2026 to serve as its international arm.

This expansion follows the July 2026 release of Kimi K3, an open-weight AI model featuring 2.8 trillion parameters. The company aims to leverage its technical capabilities to secure commercial agreements, seeking candidates with backgrounds in venture capital, consulting, and product development.

Supported by major investors including Tencent Holdings, Meituan, and China Mobile, Moonshot AI has reached a valuation in the tens of billions of dollars as of 2026. The company is now focused on scaling its business model through international service and integration efforts.
