Swedish legal AI startup Legora has secured $550 million in a Series E funding round, pushing its valuation to $8.8 billion. This follows a $600 million Series D round completed just six months prior, which valued the company at $5.6 billion.

The latest round was led by Boston-based Atreides Management. Other new investors include Baron Capital, Capital Group, Fidelity, Glade Brook Capital Partners, and JP Morgan. Existing backers such as Accel, Benchmark, Bessemer Venture Partners, General Catalyst, Iconiq, Insight Venture Partners, Redpoint Ventures, Salesforce Ventures, and Sands Capital also participated.

Legora provides AI technology for legal research, document review, and drafting. The company reports a shift in demand from AI assistants to AI agents capable of multi-step tasks. In the third quarter, in-house legal teams accounted for over 40 percent of new customers.

The United States is currently Legora's largest market. The company maintains North American offices in New York, Denver, Chicago, Houston, San Francisco, Toronto, and Mexico City. The new capital will support further expansion in North America, Europe, and Asia-Pacific, as well as development of its agentic operating system.
