Minnesota-based e-bike manufacturer Monarc has introduced a new pricing structure for its Marker and Tracer models. Customers can now choose between configurations with two batteries, one battery, or no battery at all.
The Monarc Marker is now priced at $1,999 with two batteries, $1,749 with one battery, and $1,499 without a battery. The Tracer model costs $1,899 with two batteries, $1,649 with one battery, and $1,399 without any batteries.
The option to purchase bikes without batteries is aimed at existing owners who already possess compatible power units and chargers. This strategy allows users to share batteries across multiple bikes, similar to the approach used in the power tool industry.
The single-battery configuration, marketed as Monarc Base, is intended for riders who do not require the extended range provided by a second battery. This option reduces the total cost of the bike by $250.
Monarc is backed by its parent company, Lectric Ebikes, which is the largest e-bike company in North America. The bikes feature components such as Bafang 750W motors, Shimano CUES transmissions, Talon P4 quad-piston brakes, and GNEISS reverse arch suspension forks.
