The Moscow Exchange (MOEX) launched Bitcoin perpetual futures on September 22, 2026. The instrument recorded a trading volume of approximately $1.3 million on its first day. This product is part of a series of five new perpetual-style futures introduced by the exchange.
These contracts function as one-day instruments with automatic daily rollovers. They are priced in US dollars but settled in rubles, ensuring no physical delivery of tokens occurs. This structure aligns with Bank of Russia regulations. The margin requirement for Bitcoin is set at 22%, providing traders with approximately 4.5x leverage.
Trading is restricted to qualified investors who meet specific financial or professional criteria. Funding parameters for the new contracts include K1 at 0% and K2 at 0.35%. The exchange previously introduced monthly futures for Bitcoin and Ether in late 2025, later expanding to include Solana, XRP, and Tron by May 2026.
As of September 2026, the cumulative turnover for crypto futures on MOEX exceeded 600 ₽ billion. The average daily turnover reached 2.5 ₽ billion in August 2026. More than 72,000 qualified investors have participated in trading these products on the platform.
