French startup Mistral AI has secured €3 billion in new funding, bringing its total valuation to over €21 billion. The investment round was led by Samsung. The company plans to utilize these funds to advance its artificial intelligence models and expand its computational infrastructure.

The company's valuation has nearly doubled since the previous funding round held a year ago, when it was valued at €11.7 billion. Mistral AI intends to use the capital to strengthen its presence in the industrial AI sector, focusing on manufacturing process integration.

CEO Arthur Mensch stated that the company plans to scale operations in the US and Asia while reinforcing its European footprint. To support this growth, Mistral is investing in data centers, including a facility in Sweden costing €1.2 billion and a project near Paris backed by $830 million in debt financing.

Founded in 2023 by former Google DeepMind and Meta employees, Mistral AI develops open large language models. The company maintains strategic partnerships with major European firms such as Airbus, BMW, and ASML, with the latter holding an 11 percent stake in the business.
