Microsoft released new preview builds for Windows 11 on October 7, targeting members of the Beta and Experimental channels. The update introduces several branches, including Build 26340.9616 for 26H2, Build 28120.3181 for 26H1, and Build 29683.1000 for future platform development.
The Experimental channel now features a redesigned Windows search experience built on WinUI 3. This update aims to improve search speed and efficiency, offering a streamlined interface. Microsoft also added inline actions, enabling users to toggle settings like Bluetooth, screen brightness, dark mode, and window arrangement directly from the search bar.
The search functionality has been enhanced to better interpret user intent, with improved handling of synonyms and typos. Microsoft plans to continue refining these search capabilities over the coming weeks.
Additionally, the update introduces a new battery status widget for Experimental channel users. This tool allows for centralized monitoring of power levels for both the PC and connected external devices. Users can access this widget through the widget panel settings.
