Microsoft scheduled a major event in San Francisco for October 7th to discuss the future of its Windows and Surface product lines. The presentation will focus on how local artificial intelligence will influence the next generation of personal computers.

Company CEO Satya Nadella and Windows and Surface chief Pavan Davuluri will lead the session. Nvidia CEO Jensen Huang is also confirmed to attend, which points toward a potential emphasis on RTX-powered PCs and updates regarding the Surface Laptop Ultra.

The company intends to address quality improvements for the Windows operating system. While the agenda includes future developments, a surprise announcement regarding Windows 12 is not anticipated at this time.

The previous significant Windows event took place in May 2024, where the company introduced Arm-based Copilot Plus PCs and highlighted its partnership with Qualcomm. Prior to that, Windows 11 was unveiled during a live stream in June 2021.
