Microsoft has introduced the Humanist AI Code of Conduct, a new framework establishing binding internal rules for the development and deployment of artificial intelligence. The policy aims to ensure that advanced AI systems prioritize human autonomy, dignity, and social welfare, preventing technology from overriding human decision-making processes.

The framework mandates that in critical sectors such as law, healthcare, infrastructure, and human resources, AI must function strictly as a Copilot. Microsoft prohibits end-to-end autonomous execution in these areas, requiring a human-in-the-loop mechanism that allows for immediate human intervention and system termination in all AI agent architectures.

The code also addresses social impacts by banning algorithms designed to manipulate user psychology through emotional dependency. All generative systems must clearly disclose their synthetic nature. Furthermore, Microsoft will implement a workforce resilience assessment to evaluate how AI automation affects employment, favoring designs that enhance human creativity over simple job replacement.

These ethical standards now serve as a prerequisite for Microsoft's legal, supply chain, and commercial partnerships. The company will establish a review committee to audit external partners, developers, and clients. Projects that violate these humanist principles or exhibit uncontrollable autonomous behavior face the risk of technical service termination or partnership cancellation.
