Microsoft has announced a 15,2 billion USD investment plan for the United Arab Emirates, spanning the period from 2023 to 2029. This commitment represents one of the largest technology investments the company has made outside of the United States.
By the end of 2025, the company will have deployed over 7,3 billion USD in the UAE. This includes a 1,5 billion USD equity stake in the sovereign AI company G42, over 4,6 billion USD in capital expenditures for AI and cloud data centers, and more than 1,2 billion USD in operating costs.
For the 2026 to 2029 period, Microsoft has earmarked over 7,9 billion USD. Of this amount, 5,5 billion USD is dedicated to the expansion of AI and cloud infrastructure. The remaining funds will support workforce development and operational expenses.
The infrastructure deployment includes the installation of tens of thousands of Nvidia A100-class GPUs, supported by US export licenses. Beyond the UAE, Microsoft is developing cloud regions in Qatar, Israel, Saudi Arabia, and Kuwait.
As part of its broader regional strategy, Microsoft aims to provide skills training to one million people by 2027. The investment in the UAE is intended to establish the country as a significant hub for AI computing power.
