Metris Energy, an AI-native platform for energy asset management, has raised $5 million in a seed funding round. The investment was led by PT1 Ventures, Octopus Ventures, AENU, and Blackfinch Ventures, with additional support from Plug and Play and Love Ventures. This latest injection of capital brings the total funding raised by the company to $7.5 million.
Founded in 2025, the company initially focused on solar portfolio operators. It now aims to create a unified data layer for the broader energy sector by integrating information from SCADA systems, metering, GIS, and energy markets. This approach allows asset owners to manage portfolios, automate workflows, and utilize AI agents for revenue management and natural-language queries.
Alongside the funding, the startup introduced Metria AI, an interface designed to automate complex operational tasks. Metris reports an eightfold year-on-year revenue increase and currently manages over 10,000 solar plants with a total capacity of 500MW. The company intends to use the new capital to scale its agentic capabilities and expand into wind and combined heat and power systems.
The firm is also planning a broader European expansion, with a specific emphasis on the German market, where it has already secured several new clients. CEO Natasha Jones stated that the platform aims to bridge the gap in the energy sector by providing a centralized system for owners and AI agents to monitor and monetize their energy portfolios effectively.
