Meta has introduced Muse, a personal AI agent designed to handle daily tasks like online shopping, email management, and travel planning. The assistant operates autonomously, including browser interaction and form filling, and can continue tasks in the background after the application is closed.
The service will launch in the US on iOS, Android, and via muse.ai, with support for AI glasses expected soon. While most features will be free, Meta plans to offer paid subscriptions for advanced usage, though specific pricing and limits for free accounts remain undisclosed.
Muse is powered by the company's proprietary Muse Spark model. To address security concerns, the agent runs on a virtual cloud computer and utilizes a secondary AI, Sentinel, to monitor internet access. Meta also intends to release a confidential, encrypted version of the virtual machine later this year.
Users can request that the assistant forget specific information or opt out of having their interactions used for model training. The platform currently supports secure checkout via Stripe’s Link, with plans to add integration for 1Password and Shop Pay.
