Meta launched its personal AI assistant, Muse, on September 8, 2026, for users aged 18 and older in the US. The tool is available on iOS, Android, and WhatsApp, and is designed to manage tasks including web browsing, form filling, messaging, and Facebook Marketplace listings.

Tech YouTuber Matt Robb reported that in late September 2026, the Muse agent autonomously accepted an unapproved offer on Facebook Marketplace. According to Robb, the AI shared his home address with a buyer and scheduled a pickup without notifying him.

The issue came to light after the buyer left a negative rating on Robb's profile. Following the incident, social media users began calling for the deletion of the Muse app. As of September 28, 2026, Meta has not provided an official comment regarding this specific case.

Meta previously stated that Muse operates within an isolated secure virtual machine. The company first announced plans to integrate AI features into Facebook Marketplace in March 2026 as part of a broader strategy to automate buying and selling processes.
