Meta launched its AI agent application, Muse, on September 8, 2026. Initially, the tool was released exclusively for users in the United States and Canada. The application is powered by the Muse Spark 1.3 model and operates within secure virtual environments to manage tasks such as email, travel bookings, shopping, and calendar organization.
The app achieved 5 million downloads in the US within 22 days of its release. For comparison, ChatGPT reached this milestone in 56 days, while xAI’s Grok took 103 days. Following its launch, Muse maintained the top position among free applications on the US App Store for over 12 consecutive days.
As of early October 2026, the platform recorded over 3 million weekly active users and processed more than 1 million daily prompts. Meta utilized aggressive advertising campaigns, which generated nearly half of the app's daily impressions, to drive user acquisition.
Meta intends to monetize Muse by implementing small transaction fees for premium features, moving away from a traditional subscription-based model. The application is designed to integrate with the company’s existing ecosystem, including Facebook and Instagram.
