Meta launched its personal AI agent, Muse, on September 8. By September 18, the application reached the top of the free apps chart on the US Apple App Store, surpassing ChatGPT in the rankings.

The app recorded approximately 902,000 downloads within its first six days. Muse is designed to perform multi-step tasks, such as managing calendars and booking travel, rather than just providing conversational responses.

The service integrates with platforms including Gmail, Spotify, and Facebook. It operates on secure virtual machines to isolate user data. For sensitive operations, the system requires manual user approval.

Muse is currently available only in the US for users aged 18 and older. The pricing model includes a free tier, a Power plan for $20 per month, and a Maximum tier for $100 per month.

Following the launch, Meta stock increased by approximately 0.6%. The company recently finalized an $18 billion settlement regarding social media safety for minors.
