Meta has reclaimed $25 million previously allocated to its midterm election political operations. The company received $22 million back from the American Technology Excellence Project (ATEP) and $3 million from a California-based advocacy group.

The ATEP super PAC was established by Meta in September 2025 with an initial funding of $45 million. By the end of 2025, the organization had utilized approximately $329,000 for consulting, polling, and legal expenses.

Meta maintains a total political budget of $65 million for the 2026 election cycle, distributed across four super PACs. These entities focus on supporting state-level candidates who favor AI infrastructure development and oppose restrictive technology regulations.

The company's political strategy targets key states including Texas, California, and Illinois. The initiative aims to secure support from bipartisan candidates to facilitate the construction and permitting of data centers required for AI operations.
