Meta has launched America’s Workforce Academy, a nationwide training initiative aimed at addressing the labor shortage in the construction of AI-focused data centers. The company has committed $115 million in first-year funding to support the program, marking its largest private-sector investment in skilled trades.

The academy provides training for roles such as electricians, welders, and construction workers. Participants receive NCCER credentials and an America’s Workforce Certificate upon completion. A key feature of the program is a guaranteed job offer from Meta’s construction partners for graduates.

Pilot programs are currently active in Houston, Baton Rouge, Indianapolis, and Columbus. These locations were selected due to their proximity to existing or planned Meta data center operations. The curriculum includes training in electrical work, plumbing, HVAC, and general construction.

The initiative is open to individuals with no prior experience, including veterans, recent graduates, and career changers. The first cohort graduated in August 2026 and has started working on Meta sites. Additionally, the Level-Up training component attracted 35,000 applicants during its first week.
