Meta launched its personal AI agent, Muse, on September 8, 2026. The service is available to users aged 18 and older in the US via iOS, Android, web, and WhatsApp. Following the announcement, Meta stock rose by more than 20%, and the application recorded approximately 2.8 million installs within the first 12 days.
The platform operates on a three-tier subscription model: free, $20 per month, and $100 per month. Meta has established partnerships with Walmart and PayPal to facilitate transactions. The agent runs in isolated cloud virtual machines and includes a Sentinel layer to manage permissions and sensitive tasks.
Meta has set the default setting to opt out of model training and stated that data will not be used for advertising. The company plans to test a version called Muse Confidential VM later in 2026, which will feature user-held encryption keys. This move marks a strategic shift toward direct consumer revenue.
