Mercedes-Benz is planning a significant reduction of its vehicle lineup, with a focus on electric models. At least three specific models are scheduled to be discontinued by the 2027 model year, as confirmed by a company spokesperson to Car and Driver.

The EQE sedan, including its AMG variant, will be phased out. Originally launched as an electric alternative to the E-Class with a distinct aerodynamic design, the model's necessity has decreased following the introduction of the electric CLA and the upcoming electric C-Class.

The AMG S 63 E Performance will also be discontinued after the 2027 model year. This vehicle currently features a 4.0L twin-turbo V8 engine paired with a plug-in hybrid system, delivering 791 horsepower and 1430 Nm of torque. Mercedes-Benz stated that V8 high-performance models will remain in the future.

Additionally, the Maybach EQS 680 SUV is set to be discontinued. Previously positioned as the brand's most expensive and luxurious electric vehicle, it combined the EQS SUV powertrain with exclusive Maybach design and interior materials. Future electric Maybach models are expected to move away from the independent EQ branding.
