MegaFon has expanded its network coverage to include 32 remote villages in the Altai region. This initiative is part of the federal project aimed at eliminating digital inequality, which facilitates the deployment of 4G infrastructure in sparsely populated areas.
The newly connected locations include villages such as Khomutovo, Korobeynikovo, Topolnoye, and others. In total, approximately 10,000 residents now have access to the operator's voice services and high-speed mobile internet.
The infrastructure development was carried out in collaboration with the Ministry of Digital Development and Communications of the Altai Territory. According to Maria Zanko, director of MegaFon in the Altai Territory and the Altai Republic, the program allows the company to reach dozens of villages annually where the population ranges from 100 to 1,000 people.
