British retailer Tom Hartley Jnr is offering five historic McLaren Formula 1 cars for sale. These vehicles, previously held in the company's UK headquarters, include models from the 1991 season to 2023.
The collection features two 1991 McLaren MP4/6A models, chassis 04 and 07. Both were raced by Gerhard Berger and tested by Ayrton Senna. Chassis 04 retains its original naturally aspirated Honda V12 engine.
Three modern cars are also available: a 2012 MP4/27A driven by Jenson Button and Lewis Hamilton, which will undergo full restoration, and two cars driven by Lando Norris: a 2021 MCL35M and a 2023 MCL37A.
The 2023 MCL37A was used by Norris for podium finishes in Singapore and Japan. It was also utilized for testing by drivers including Oscar Piastri, Mick Schumacher, Pato O'Ward, and Valtteri Bottas.
McLaren Racing CEO Zak Brown stated the sale aims to put these cars back into circulation rather than keeping them in storage. The move follows reports of the company's challenging financial position.
