India-based gaming startup Matiks has secured $10 million in a pre-Series A funding round. The investment was led by General Catalyst, with additional participation from Ronnie Screwvala, Info Edge Ventures, Tanglin Venture Partners, and Untitled Ventures. To date, the company has raised a total of over $13.5 million.

The platform, which focuses on math, logic, and memory games, has experienced significant growth this year. Daily active users increased from 22,000 earlier in the year to over 300,000 by September. During that same month, the app recorded 2.2 million monthly active users.

Founded by Sudhanshu Bhatia, Mohan Kumar, and Sushant Timmapur, the company currently employs 41 full-time staff. The new capital will be used to scale the platform and expand into international markets, including Japan and South Korea, where the company plans to implement localization.

Matiks has also launched an experimental game creation tool called Jelo. While the majority of the user base is currently in India, the startup is testing a subscription model and in-game purchases to drive monetization alongside its existing user growth strategy.
