The FCC has officially added the Matic robot vacuum, model 4MA0001, and its charging dock, model 4DK0008, to its list of ban waivers as of October 2nd. This decision allows for the import, marketing, and sale of these specific radio-equipped products within the United States.

Despite the waiver, the company clarifies that its devices were already compliant with FCC regulations. Matic utilizes off-the-shelf Intel AX210 Wi-Fi and Bluetooth chips, which possess their own individual FCC certifications. Furthermore, the company performs assembly operations locally in Mountain View, California.

CEO Mehul Nariyawala noted that the company currently does not meet the 65 percent threshold required for a Made in the US designation. However, Matic is actively working to increase domestic sourcing and manufacturing. The company recently expanded its production capacity by converting its entire 24,000-square-foot Mountain View facility into a factory.

Production output has seen significant growth, rising from 1,500 units annually to 17,000 units. Matic continues to procure its core compute platform from Nvidia and prioritizes domestic suppliers for other critical components to reduce reliance on foreign parts.
