Sixteen major corporations have formally requested to exclude their shares from the upcoming OKXICE trading platform. This venue, developed by crypto exchange OKX and Intercontinental Exchange, was designed to facilitate the trading of tokenized equities.
As of October 19, 2026, the number of companies opting out rose to 16, increasing from nine the previous week. The latest objectors include Goldman Sachs, Microsoft, Alphabet, McDonald’s, Qualcomm, Caterpillar, and Western Digital.
The initial list of companies that filed objections by October 15 included Broadcom, Verizon, UnitedHealth, and CoreWeave. Applied Optoelectronics also joined the list, citing concerns regarding potential impacts on share prices and investor perception.
The OKXICE platform initially proposed a roster of 63 tickers representing 62 companies. Due to the formal objections, at least 17 symbols have already been removed from the launch list, reducing the platform's initial offering.
These actions are conducted under the SEC’s Innovation Exemption, which allows issuers to opt out of tokenized trading. The framework permits permissioned trading of shares backed one-to-one by underlying assets without requiring registration as a traditional exchange.
