Mach9, formerly known as Mach9 Robotics, has secured $34 million in a Series A funding round. The investment was co-led by First Round Capital and Bessemer Venture Partners, with participation from Prudence and Quiet Capital.
Founded in 2021, the company initially focused on hardware for visual inspections. After identifying that data processing workflows were the primary bottleneck for civil engineers, the startup pivoted to developing AI-powered CAD software.
The company reports that its software has been used in over 2,500 projects by nearly 100 customers during its private beta phase. The system automates survey data processing, which the company claims is 10 times faster than manual methods.
Mach9 developed proprietary AI models to achieve centimeter-level accuracy required for infrastructure projects. The software generates initial design drafts that engineers can refine and verify to meet industry liability standards.
The new capital will be allocated toward product development, hiring industry experts, and scaling operations to meet growing market demand for automated infrastructure planning tools.
