The developer has released the source code for Lukidown, a Telegram bot designed to download media from various platforms including YouTube, Instagram, TikTok, VK, and Spotify. The project, which has been operational since April 2026, functions without advertisements or paid subscriptions.

The bot utilizes Python libraries such as yt-dlp, ffmpeg, and mutagen to handle media processing. It supports video resolutions up to 4K and audio formats ranging from 192 kbps MP3 to FLAC. Users can interact with the bot via an inline interface or through direct commands in any chat.

To optimize performance, the system employs a caching mechanism using PostgreSQL and Redis. By storing Telegram file_ids, the bot can deliver previously requested content in under 0.2 seconds without re-downloading files. It also features an asynchronous pipeline to prevent event loop blocking.

The developer implemented custom solutions to bypass API limitations, including a GraphQL-based approach for Spotify and reverse-engineering techniques for Kinopoisk. The project is open for community contributions, with the source code now available for public review and pull requests.
