Li Auto plans to introduce solid-state batteries into its vehicle lineup for small-scale production by 2027 or 2028. According to Liu Zhimin, the company's senior director of power batteries, the technology is currently undergoing prototype validation, including testing in eyewear products.

The company faces ongoing challenges in balancing battery lifespan, charging performance, and production costs. Liu Zhimin noted that achieving mature mass production for vehicles while ensuring a consistent user experience is expected to take approximately five years.

On September 7, Li Auto announced a new battery strategy, confirming that its self-developed batteries are already being integrated into major models such as the L6, L8, and i8. The company intends to transition all future new and updated models to its proprietary battery technology.
