Li Auto has officially initiated its expansion into the European market, marking the start with a partnership at the 2026 Solheim Cup in the Netherlands. The company provided a fleet of 20 Li i6 electric SUVs to serve as courtesy transport for participants and VIPs during the golf tournament, which runs from September 7 to 13.

The manufacturer confirmed that its Li i6 electric SUV will be marketed as the Li 6 in international markets. Additionally, the company is showcasing its Li Mega electric MPV at the event. Further details regarding the global product lineup and specific European business strategy are scheduled to be unveiled at the Paris Motor Show in October.

The company intends to focus on battery electric vehicles for the European region, while prioritizing its L-series extended-range models for markets in the Middle East and Central Asia. Sales of the Li 6 in Europe are expected to commence in the fourth quarter of the year, though specific pricing and distribution channels remain undisclosed.

Li Auto is actively expanding its international footprint, having recently launched the Li L9 in Dubai, Kazakhstan, and Uzbekistan. In Kazakhstan, the company established a local assembly agreement with the Allur automotive group. The firm plans to utilize a flexible network of subsidiaries, dealers, and exclusive distributors to manage its overseas sales and service operations.

The company reported a return to delivery growth in August, with 37 679 vehicles delivered, representing a 32.07% increase compared to the previous year. Total deliveries for the first eight months of 2026 reached 261 619 units. This expansion effort follows a period of annual declines in delivery volumes over the preceding three months.
