The Smart #2 city car, a joint project of Geely and Mercedes-Benz, has arrived at dealerships throughout China. This rollout follows the vehicle's recent debut at the Paris Auto Show. While the limited Couture edition was previously opened for orders at a price of ¥112 999 ($16 890), the standard model is now reaching showrooms in two color configurations: red with a black roof and white with golden pillars.
The vehicle features a 12.8-inch touchscreen, an 8.8-inch instrument cluster, and a seven-speaker Sennheiser audio system. It is equipped with 16-inch wheels and a split tailgate. The interior design includes black and white finishes with yellow accents. The car measures 2746 mm in length, 1669 mm in width, and 1555 mm in height, with a wheelbase of 1875 mm and a turning radius of 3.35 meters.
Technically, the Smart #2 utilizes a 35.8 kWh battery pack manufactured by CATL, paired with a 60 kW rear-axle electric motor. This setup provides a CLTC range of 410 km. The system supports 65 kW DC fast charging, allowing the battery to charge from 10% to 80% in 20 minutes. The chassis is built with a front MacPherson strut and a rear five-link independent suspension.
The Couture edition is strictly limited to 999 units. While the manufacturer has confirmed that the model is available in four trim levels in Europe, pricing for the remaining Chinese trim levels has not yet been disclosed.
